Contango is pleased to announce the successful completion of a major overhaul project for Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), delivering another important milestone in our ongoing commitment to supporting Libya's upstream oil and gas sector.
The project involved the complete overhaul and refurbishment of high-speed gas compressors with a combined processing capacity of 10 million standard cubic feet (10 MMSCF) per day. The work included the inspection, repair, replacement of critical components, reassembly, testing, and commissioning of the compressor units to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation.
This supports AGOCO’s production objectives while enhancing the reliability and availability of critical processing facilities.
The successful completion of this project has played a key role in increasing field production to approximately 70,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).
Throughout the project, Contango’s engineering and maintenance teams worked closely with AGOCO to execute the overhaul in accordance with the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical excellence. The project was completed through careful planning, effective execution, and close collaboration with the client’s operations and maintenance personnel.
Building on this achievement, Contango continues to support AGOCO through the repair and rehabilitation of additional compressor units and other critical equipment. These ongoing efforts are aimed at further improving operational reliability, maximizing equipment availability, and supporting the client’s long-term production goals.
